JOB hunters are being called to an employment fair hosted by Clydebank’s MSP.

Gil Paterson is bringing together a cohort of businesses and organisations looking to fill vacancies at the new Clydebank Leisure Centre on Wednesday, March 22.

Arranged in conjunction with the Department for Work and Pensions, Skills Development Scotland and West College Scotland the Clydebank MSP is hoping to secure jobs for as many constituents as possible.

Around 30 employers will be attending, including Police Scotland, BAE Systems, Airport Recruitment Team, Aldi, Cameron House and more.

Mr Paterson said: “Unemployment in former industrial heartlands like Clydebank has been a scourge on the community, as over time it has generated too much poverty and deprivation, which creates all sorts of problems.

“As an MSP, I am serious about getting constituents back into work – and by bringing these excellent employers together I’m hoping it will help return some jobs to people in West Dunbartonshire.

“For the sake of one’s own disposable income, lifestyle, confidence, career and skillsets, it’s so important we get job hunters into the work place. It serves to benefit not just the individual, but the wider economic power and prosperity of Scotland.

“I am appealing to constituents in the area to get along to the jobs fair at the brand new Clydebank Leisure Centre on March 22, if they are seeking employment, new opportunities or even just general advice about the world of work.”

The Jobs Fair will begin at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 22 at Clydebank Leisure Centre, Queens Quay Aurora Avenue, Clydebank.
